Foursquare adds Facebook ‘like’ for venues

Foursquare has added the Facebook ‘like’ button to all of its venues, allowing users to browse venues, select which ones they ‘like’ and then have this information instantly relayed back to their Facebook account.

This may seem like an insignificant and basic new feature, however it could mean thousands of dollars worth of new traffic for businesses on Foursquare that are well-liked.

You will be able to see who of your Facebook friends have ‘liked’ a venue you plan to visit before you make that decision, rather than just relying on the tips left behind by other Foursquare users.

Foursquare is just one of many (more than 50,000 according to websites who have chosen to integrate Facebook’s new social plugins.
