Google launches Person Finder in wake of Chile earthquake

February 28, 2010

Those who are either looking for someone or have information about someone in the aftermath of the Chile earthquake can submit information via Person Finder, powered by Google.

This is the same technology used to assist with locating missing people after Haiti.

Anyone can log onto the site and choose from two options, ‘I’m looking for someone’ or ‘I have information about someone’. All content is publicly viewable.

This is a fantastic way to share information and hopefully re-unite the missing with their loved ones.
