Nando’s to honour Grill’d vouchers in marketing coup

If you’re not already familiar with the Grill’d two-for-one voucher debacle, in a nutshell Grill’d Burgers placed a voucher in the Uni Times, both a print and web-based publication.

As the online version of the voucher made the email rounds and more than expected customers cashed in, Grill’d retracted the online offer and posted on their¬†blog that only original copies of the print-based offer would be accepted.

Obviously this prompted much rage from consumers with angry messages left on the blog and the company’s Facebook fan page, with some going as far to report the incident to the ACCC.

Not sure what was going on in the minds of Grill’d’s marketing department, but in any case it is they who lose out as Nando’s responded to their botched campaign announcing they would honour all Grill’d coupons with the tagline ‘So be well fed, not fed up!’
